Montreal’s Quays of the Old Port offers plenty of activities for Montreal locals and visitors. Located at the Eastern end of the Lachine canal, and just off the St. Lawrence River, the Old port is great place for locals and tourists to mingle. During the summer, it offers a riverfront destination for walking, cycling, pedal boats, rollerblading and even Segway rentals.
Activities at The Quays of The Old Port
Montreal’s Old port welcomes more than five million visitors each year. Stretching 2.5km (1.5 mi), it is a wonderful place to take a stroll. Many boat tours are offered along the piers along with trips to the surrounding islands. Along with the tour boats, one can also find ferries and amphibious bus tours that provide tours along the St. Lawrence River.
The Quays of the Old Port of Montreal
Some of the noteworthy attractions in the Quays of the Old Port include the Montreal Science Center, which contains an IMAX theatre and the Montreal Clock Tower. The Old Port also contains a huge open-air skating rink. In 2005, the Old Port was renamed to The Quays of the Old Port of Montreal.
