Founded in 1964, the Montreal Contemporary Art Museum (Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal) is located inside Montreal’s Quartier des Spectacles. The museum is inside the Place des Arts and opposite of Complexe Desjardins. Montreal’s Museum of Contemporary Art’s primary mission is to promote Quebec art along with Canadian and International contemporary art.

Montreal’s Contemporary Art Museum is part of Montreal’s Place des Arts, which happens to be a cultural complex that is dedicated to performing arts as well as visual arts. The Musée d’art contemporain offers programming which ranges from presentations from its permanent collection (Montreal’s Contemporary Art Museum contains a permanent collection of more than 7,00 pieces), or exhibitions of works by Quebec.
